Long Distance Walkers Association
The LDWA is an Association of people with a common interest in walking long distances in rural, mountainous or moorland areas. By joining the LDWA, you will meet other like-minded long distance walkers and gain access to information on walking events and long distance walking routes all over the UK.
The LDWA publishes an extensive calendar of challenge events and group walks. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Group walks are normally led walks of between 15 and 25 miles. Check here for more information.
There are currently 44 local groups and being a member of one of these is great fun! Indeed, without them the LDWA would not exist. Local groups host regular group walks led by one of their members and some also organise social events and longer trips.
Membership of the LDWA is open to all, with individual members paying just £13.00 a year, so why not join online now. Members receive the LDWA journal Strider, and are also entitled to join a local group of their choice.
Sport England recognises the LDWA, along with the Ramblers, as the governing body for 'Rambling' in England.

Kent Group
One of the earlier groups in the Association, Kent Group of the LDWA was established in 1975. It is an active group with over 100 current members.
We are always pleased to welcome newcomers on our group social walks. We try to organise lunch stops near pubs but it's probably best to bring food with you just in case. Check our Diary for start times and locations.
Once you have joined the LDWA we would encourage you to become a member of the Kent Group. Contact our Membership Secretary Nick Dockree for details.
The group organises a number of challenge events each year including the Sevenoaks Circular, the High Weald Walk, and the White Cliffs Challenge. Our Four Pits Anytime Challenge is a recent innovation. The KSS Southern Triple Challenge Event for 2012 is our own White Cliffs 50 Challenge.
Pub meetings are at 8.30pm at the Rose and Crown, Wrotham, on the first Monday of each month. If this is a Bank Holiday then we meet on the following Monday. All are welcome. Map
